Blocked account calculator for Ausbildung
Is your Ausbildung pay enough for the visa? Check against €1,048 gross / €822 net (dual) or €959 net (school-based) and see how much extra money proof you need, in euro and taka.
Is your training pay enough for the visa — or how much extra money proof do you need?
How the calculation works
- Company-based (dual) Ausbildung: living costs count as secured with at least €1,048 gross or €822 net a month (2026)
- School-based Ausbildung: at least €959 net a month must be available
- If your pay is lower, the difference for each month must be covered — with a blocked account or a formal obligation letter from a sponsor in Germany
- Net pay is estimated after social security (about 21%, plus 0.6% if you are 23 or older without children)
Questions
Do I need a blocked account for an Ausbildung?
Only if your training pay is too low. With at least €1,048 gross (€822 net) a month in a dual Ausbildung your living costs count as secured.
How much extra money do I need if my pay is low?
The missing amount per month times the months to cover. Example: €700 net is €122 short of €822 — about €1,464 for 12 months.
Can a relative in Germany help instead?
Yes, a sponsor living in Germany can sign a formal obligation letter (Verpflichtungserklärung) for the missing amount.
